National Space Awareness Workshop 2012
Canadian Space Achievements
The workshop is a biennial event hosted by CAISU that aims at promoting space awareness among students, young professionals, space enthusiasts and the general community by having the participants work on topics in a space-related theme immersed in a dynamic and interdisciplinary setting.
Ken has been the vice-president of the Canadian Alumni of the International Space University since the fall of 2010. His interests in the space sector date back to his undergraduate career when he started a B.A.Sc. in Space Engineering. Since then, he has worked for companies and organizations including York University’s Centre for Research in Earth and Space Science as well as COM DEV Ltd. He now holds a dual position working at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies and Columbia University’s Center for Climate Systems Research in New York City.
The majority of his experience has focused on atmospheric spectroscopy relating to climate change. Specifically, building, designing, assembling, programming and data retrieval for atmospheric spectrometers.
In his free time, Ken maintains an active lifestyle, enjoying the outdoors exploring the natural beauty of Northern New York and Ontario in the summer months. He loves living in Manhattan and experiencing all that it has to offer.
